 Its been almost a week and no more political emails, unsolicited robo-calls or annoying TV ads. Yes it is quiet and I like it! It is also wahoo time in South Florida and the Bahamas and just in time for the hot wahoo bite, we have a great new product. We started selling it here at the store back in July and have sold quite a few of them, so If you are getting ready for wahoo or trolling for grouper, you must have a couple of these. WAHOO, A Great Trolling Lure Head! Another great unusual product that simply gravitated to us. It is not new and the original dates back to the early 80’s. Unfortunately the local guy that used to make these died, hopefully not from lead poisoning. One of our customers and local captain brought me a sample and I simply had to make these. I had my lead guy machine a mold based on the original design and now we have them. So let me tell you what it is. The WAHOO (OK I just came up with the name, not very creative) is a 16 ounce lead head shaped in the form of a high speed head that you usually see in stainless or chrome finish selling for $ 40+. It is narrow enough to fit inside a 12-16 inch lure skirt, and it is also possible to double skirt it. Now, if you do a lot of wahoo fishing, I do not have to explain further. Although it still hurts to lose a lure to a cut off or a cockpit mistake, it hurts a lot less when the head cost you less than nine bucks vs. over forty. Buy three of these heads and a bunch of skirts for less than a cost of one fancy lure. The wahoos wont know the difference. GET YOURSELF COUPLE OF WAHOOS Get ready for wahoo season by getting a few of these. I will throw in a starter skirt for each lure you buy (my choice of color) or you can buy your choice of color from our large selection (by the way, we have the best price on replacement skirts). As I said, these heads weigh a little over a pound, so you do not need a downrigger or cigar weights to pull them. Pull at high-speed or slow a bit. They work and is rare the week that we do not get a report or two of wahoos and the occasional grouper caught on these.
